Chiranjeevi Supports Samantha Amid Konda Surekha's Claims About KTR: 'Extremely Pained to See...'

Megastar Chiranjeevi reacted to Konda Surekha’s claims about KTR causing Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Naga Chaitanya’s divorce. The Telugu superstar took to X and condemned her claims. He said that he is not okay with the film industry becoming a ‘soft target’ for those who seek instant reach and validation. He also expressed his disappointment over women being dragged into ‘political slug fest’.

“I am extremely pained to see the disgraceful remarks made by an honourable woman minister. It is a shame that celebs and members of film fraternity become soft targets as they provide instant reach and attention. We as Film Industry stand united in opposing such vicious verbal assaults on our members. No one should stoop to this level for scoring political points by dragging unconnected people and more so women into their political slug fest and make distasteful fictional allegations,” he wrote in his social media post.

“We choose our leaders to make the society a better place to live in, and not contaminate it by lowering the discourse. Politicians and people in honourable positions should set better examples. Trust the concerned will make amends and withdraw these malicious remarks immediately,” he added.

Chiranjeevi isn’t the only actor who has come to Samantha’s support. On Wednesday night, Nani also took to X and extended his support to the actress while slamming the political leader’s statement. “Disgusting to see politicians thinking they can get away with talking any kind of nonsense. When your words can be so irresponsible, it’s stupid of us to expect that you will have any responsibility for your people.” He emphasized that such behavior reflects poorly on society and added, “It’s not just about actors or cinema. This is not about any political party. It is not okay for someone in such a respectable position to talk such utter baseless rubbish in front of the media and think that it is okay,” he said.

For the unversed, Konda Surekha made the controversial claim that BRS leader KT Rama Rao (KTR) played a role in the couple’s separation, kicking up a storm. She claimed KT Rama Rao demanded that Samantha be sent to him in exchange for sparing Nagarjuna’s N-Convention Centre from demolition. According to Surekha, when Samantha refused, it led to the collapse of her marriage with Naga Chaitanya.

The N-Convention Centre, owned by Nagarjuna, was partially demolished in August by the Hyderabad Disaster Response and Assets Monitoring and Protection Agency (HYDRAA) for encroaching on lake buffer zones. Nagarjuna had obtained a stay order from the High Court later that day.

Nagarjuna, Amla Akkineni, Naga Chaitanya, Akhil Akkineni and Samantha Ruth Prabhu slammed the claims. KTR also demanded the claims be retracted, otherwise he would file a defamation case against Surekha. The political leader has retracted her statements.
