Anushka Sharma is mourning the demise of legendary industrialist Ratan Tata. Veteran industrialist and Tata Sons Chairman Emeritus Ratan Tata passed away on October 9 at the age of 86. He was admitted to Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital earlier this week due to a sudden drop in blood pressure. The news of his death shocked everyone, including Anushka. The actress, on Friday, paid tribute to the late icon.
She shared a post in which a young man could be seen sheltering an older man from the rain with his umbrella. Many understood this to be an homage to Ratan Tata and his close aide Shantanu Naidu.

On Thursday, Anushka admitted she was ‘deeply saddened’ by the news of Ratan Tata’s death and called him the ‘Taj of India.’ Anushka said, “Deeply saddened by the tragic news of Shri Ratan Tata. He upheld the values of integrity, grace, and dignity through everything he did and was truly an icon and Taj of India. RIP Sir, You have touched so many lives.”
Ratan Tata’s passing has left a profound void in India’s corporate and philanthropic landscape and the world is mourning this tragic loss. The Tata family issued a statement which read, “It is with deep sorrow that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved Ratan.”

During this time of grief, we request privacy as we come together to honour his memory,” the statement read.
