Netherlands will be up against Afghanistan in their upcoming fixture at the IC Cricket World Cup 2023 on Friday.
The Dutch side had a fairy-tale run in the qualifiers as they secured a spot at the premier tournament after a 12-year absence. They may have just two victories in the six games so far but they took down South Africa to show they are here not just to make the numbers.

They were able to shock the world when they slayed South Africa by 38 runs at the World Cup. Their most recent victory came against Bangladesh in Kolkata where the Dutch were able to pull off an 87-run win.
Paul van Meekeren had the best performance in the game as he plucked four wickets to secure a dominant win for the Netherlands.
The Dutch now have the opportunity to turn their victory into a series of wins as they face Afghanistan next.
The two underdog sides will clash at the Ekana Sports City Stadium in Lucknow on November 4. Afghanistan started their campaign with a loss to Bangladesh but the team has recovered superbly well with three wins in the six matches they have played.
They were able to take down cricket giants including the likes of England, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Another win could vastly improve their chances of making the knockout phase of the tournament. However, it surely isn’t going to be easy for the Asian side.
