WIFW: Manish Malhotra plays with delightful hues
For this year's Autumn collection Manish Malhotra chose Chikankari and embroiders from Kashmir.

New Delhi: Bollywood's blue eyed boy Manish Malhotra continuing his legacy, unfolded his story in delightful hues. Colours like ivories and beiges with splashes of burned orange, rusts, pinks and brick red for women’s wear and greys, navy blues and blacks for men’s wear.

For this year’s collection Manish chose Chikankari and embroiders from Kashmir.

Most distinguishable design feature of the Manish’s mens wear collection were the borders used on the hemlines of the basic indigenous bodies like traditional Sherwanis. The borders again were a mix of metallic dabka embroideries and contrast borders. The silhouettes were teamed up with printed large shawls carrying Manish’s signature neat striped borders. This was an ensemble comprising of old world pants and salwars.

Paneled and voluminous pieces were embellished with delicately done embroideries. Colour palette included warm and fresh tones. There were more of floral motifs inspired from the valley of Kashmir. The thread work was subtle tone-in-tone added to the lot of movement and volume, with lots of drapes suited for luxurious and modern women.
