NAGERCOIL: Two persons from Thiruvananthapuram were killed in a road accident near Thuckalay in the district on Sunday.According to the police, Ramalingam, 52, a businessman of Sasthri Nagar near Karamana in Thiruvananthapuram along with his relatives had gone to worship at their family temple at Sattur in Virudhunagar district. After their visit to the temple, they began their return journey around 1.30 a.m. on Sunday.While they were nearing Eraviputhoorkadai near Thuckalay on Nagercoil- Thiruvananthapuram highway, the car rammed into the back side of a lorry which was parked on the road side. In the accident, Ramalingam and Saravanakumar, 36, of Durga Nagar near Karamana in Thiruvananthapuram were killed on the spot. Five others who were also in the car- Umamaheswari, 29, wife of Saravanakumar, Vignesh, 18, son of Ramalingam, Krishnaveni, 42, wife of Ramalingam and Saroja, 70, suffered injuries. They were admitted to a private hospital at Marthandam, the police said.
