Watch: BCCI Sends Fans on A Nostalgic Trip With Epic Clip of Virat Kohli Bowing Down to Sarfaraz Khan
Sarfaraz Khan brought up his maiden international century at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium during the first Test against New Zealand.

Game recognises game. Virat Kohli knew Sarfaraz Khan is a special talent long before he would start vigorously banging the doors of India selectors with truckload of runs for Mumbai in first-class cricket. An old clip of Kohli’s moment with Sarfaraz during an IPL match is going viral on social media in which the former Royal Challengers Bengaluru skipper can be seen offering his respect to the young batter after a brilliant cameo.

During a match between RCB and Rajasthan Royals during IPL 2015, a 17-year-old Sarfaraz faced the likes of Shane Watson, Tim Southee, James Faulkner at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium to score an entertaining 44 – an innings that saw him unleash an array of audacious shots including an upper cut, a reverse flick, a lofted shot leaving the then captain Kohli mighty impressed.

On Saturday, Sarfaraz was again showing his wares with Kohli watching him from the Indian dressing room. Same venue but different settings. Back then it was for RCB, this time was for India in a Test.

Sarfaraz peeled off a brilliant maiden international century, taking just 110 deliveries to get there.  He made his India debut earlier this year during the five-match Test series against England at home. Playing in three of those games, the 26-year-old scored 200 runs including three half-centuries as India recorded a 4-1 win.

The young batter thus made a superb comeback after having been dismissed for a duck in the first innings of the ongoing Test. He was included in India’s playing XI as a replacement for Shubman Gill who missed out on account of not being 100 per cent fit.

Incidentally, the last India batter to score a duck and century in the same Test was Gill who did so during the recent Chennai Test against Bangladesh.
