Star Australian all-rounder Cameron Green took to Instagram on Sunday (October 20) to share an update after he underwent back surgery. 25-year-old Green, who has played in 28 Tests, 28 ODIs, and 13 T20Is for Australia so far, posted a couple of pictures and captioned it, “First coffee walk post surgery.”
In the first picture, he can be seen on the hospital bed after his surgery, while in the second, he was seen having coffee.

Green, who suffered an injury during the Australia-England ODI series last month, will miss the upcoming five-match Test series between India and Australia. The 2024-25 edition of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy will start on November 22 in Perth. It has been reported that the star all-rounder will remain out of action for at least four to six months and could make a comeback during the IPL 2025 or WTC final if Australia manage to qualify for it.
Green will be a big miss for Australia in the much-awaited Test series against India. The Western Australia cricketer has scored 1377 runs in Tests so far, and in addition to that, he has also dismissed 35 batters.
In his absence, Mitchell Marsh will have to step up and contribute much more with the ball.
Australia has not won the last four Test series against India, out of which two were played on Australian soil. India defeated Australia for the first time in a Test series played on Australian soil during the 2018-19 tour under Virat Kohli’s captaincy, and then two years later, the two-time WTC losing finalists repeated the same feat under Ajinkya Rahane’s leadership.
The 2024-25 edition of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy will have five Tests. After the series opener in Perth, both teams will face each other in the day-night Test which will be played from December 6 to 10 at the Adelaide Oval. The third, fourth, and fifth Tests are scheduled to take place at The Gabba in Brisbane (December 14-18), Melbourne Cricket Ground (December 26-30), and Sydney Cricket Ground (January 3-7, 2025).
