Netflix has not yet revealed the release date for season 5 of Stranger Things, but the excitement for the series is sky high. David Harbour, who plays Jim Hopper, recently created buzz by dropping a major hint about the show’s finale episode. During an interview with Josh Horowitz on the Happy Sad Confused podcast at New York Comic Con, the Gran Turismo star assured the crowd that the finale is going to be the best episode in the show’s history. He further Harbour shared details about the emotional table read, claiming that many cast members became too emotional. By the time they reached the last 20 minutes, everyone started crying. As the show is coming to an end, fans are more curious than ever about how it will all wrap up.
As per People, speaking about season 5 episode 8, the actor said, “They land the plane and it’s the best episode they’ve ever done. The end of this episode when we were reading it, just us reading it, about halfway through, people started crying. Then about the last 20 minutes, it was just uncontrollably crying, waves of different people. Noah Schnapp being my favourite. I think part of that also is the fact that these kids, it was their childhood. Like, they started the show when they were 11 and 12, and here we are reading [the finale]. It’s such a great episode, and it’s such a great season. You guys will love it. Its 10 years later and we examine that idea, and it’s so well done and so beautiful”
David Harbour added, “Look, I’m very close to the show, so I have very strong opinions. And they may not match yours if you’re a fan of the show. I’m an actor on the show. So I see the nuts and bolts.” The actor admitted that he sometimes feels frustrated with certain episodes or seasons of the show that he doesn’t enjoy.
Although Netflix has not yet disclosed the official plot for season 5, they’re expected to continue from the conclusion of season 4. The main characters will likely work together to finally defeat Vecna. Fans can expect the last eight episodes will be released in 2025.
