New Delhi: Support for animated GIF images is something users have always missed on Twitter, but there is no more wait now. Twitter has now announced its support for GIF images. Users on Twitter will now be able to view GIF images in their timeline - not only on the web app, but also on Android and iPhone apps.GIF images now appear in users' timeline on Twitter, but they do not play automatically on the timeline. To make a GIF image animate, you need to click the play button that shows up over top of the image. But the GIFs do play on load if you visit an individual tweet page.Announcing its support for GIF images, the company has sent out a tweet from from its @support handled that reads, "Starting today, you can share and view animated GIFs on http://Twitter.com , Android and iPhone."Among the social networks Google+ has GIF support but Facebook doesn't, yet.
