Mallika Sherawat Initially Thought She Was Offered A Dance Number In Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video

Directed by Raaj Shaandilyaa, the movie stars Rajkummar Rao and Triptii Dimri in lead roles, but the major highlight of the trailer was the unexpected appearance of Mallika Sherawat, who has stayed away from the spotlight in recent years. In the trailer, Sherawat seems to be paired with Vijay Raaz and will be playing a crucial role in the movie.

In a recent interview, Shaandilyaa shared how Sherawat joined the project. Initially, the actress believed the filmmaker was offering her a part in a dance number. However, once he explained that the role was specifically written for her, she was thrilled and immediately accepted the opportunity to be part of the upcoming film.

Speaking with ETimes, Shaandilyaa explained, “I had written the role with Mallika Sherawat in mind. The film is set in 1997, and her character is that of a middle-class modern woman. When we initially approached her, she thought we were offering her a dance number. When we clarified that the part was crafted just for her, she really liked the character and came on board immediately.”

In another interview with OTT Play, Raaj Shaandilyaa mentioned that Mallika Sherawat didn’t require much convincing to join Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video. After reading the script, she came forward and simply said she liked the character and was ready to be part of the project. According to the filmmaker, the actress was simply waiting for the right opportunity that would excite her.

As per the trailer, the movie is set in the 90s and follows a newlywed couple, Vicky and Vidya. When the video CD from their wedding night goes missing, it puts their relationship and reputation in trouble. As the couple faces a series of unexpected challenges to recover the lost CD, the story takes intriguing twists and turns that are sure to provide hilarious moments for the audience.

Apart from Rajkummar Rao and Triptii Dimri, Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video also stars Mallika Sherawat, Vijay Raaz and Archana Puran Singh, Mukesh Tiwari, Rakesh Bedi and Tiku Talsania.
