Kolkata-born actress Bidita Bag is all set to make history with her film ‘Love Is Love’. It will be the first Indian film released on the popular international LGBTQ+ OTT platform, Dekkoo. The film, which has already garnered international acclaim, is a trilogy of the 13 international awards-winning ‘Dunno Y Na Jaane Kyun’ series.

‘Love Is Love’ boasts a stellar cast including Kitu Gidwani, Zarina Wahab, Kapil Kaustubh Sharma, Yuvraaj Parashar, Bidita Bag, Shahjahan, and Mona Ambegaonkar. The story spans four stages from 2002 to 2023, with Kitu Gidwani portraying a down-market roadside prostitute for the first time in her illustrious career.

“With ‘Love Is Love,’ we aim to break barriers and bring forth the stories of the LGBTQ+ community that deserve to be heard,” says director Kapil Kaustubh Sharma. “Releasing on Dekkoo, a platform that champions LGBTQ+ narratives, is a significant achievement for us and reaffirms our commitment to inclusivity and representation.”

Written and directed by Kapil Kaustubh Sharma and produced by Yuvraaj Parashar, ‘Love Is Love’ features music by Zeenat Aman’s son Zahaan Khan and Nikhil Kamath. The film’s inclusion on Dekkoo is expected to reach a wide audience, furthering the discourse on LGBTQ+ issues and promoting acceptance and understanding.

Bidita Bag was seen with Nawazuddin Siddiqui in Babumoshai Bandookbaaz. The action thriller film directed by Kushan Nandy features Tahir Raj Bhasin, Prosenjit Chatterjee, Roopa Ganguly, Tota Roy Chowdhury and Biswajit Chakraborty.

She was also seen in Bhaukaal 2. The show starred Mohit Raina, Pradeep Nagar and others. As Mid-Day mentions the show revolves around two gangs, Shaukeen gang in the east and the Dedha brothers in the west. Speaking about her character Nazneen, Bidita said to Mid-Day, “The story has moved forward by two-three months. In season one, Nazneen was a shadow of Shaukeen but he dies. Her responsibility has increased and she has started understanding her inner strength.”
