Thoothukudi fishermen stay off, support cause

THOOTHUKUDI: Fishermen of mechanised boats here, expressed their support to the protest against the KKNPP, by staying off the sea on Wednesday.Expressing solidarity with the protesters at Idinthakarai, Mechanized Fishing Boat Owners announced a 3-day strike from November 2 to 4. Accordingly, 258 mechanized boats at Thoothukudi Fishing Harbour did not venture into the sea on Wednesday and were anchored at the fishing harbour here.Besides this, a mass protest against KKNPP will be held at Thoothukudi on November 4.
