In a shocking incident, a 20-year-old man was arrested in Thane’s Dombivali after a video of him allegedly urinating into a bag and continuing to sell fruits without washing hands went viral on social media.
The incident took place in a market in Nilje area in Dombivali on Sunday. The incident triggered widespread outrage among netizens, with the locals entering the market and vandalising it.
The accused, identified as Ali Khan, was taken into custody by the Manpada police station in Dombivali, after the incident came into limelight, news agency PTI quoted a police official as saying.

The accused has been arrested under Sections 271 (negligent act likely to spread infection of disease dangerous to life) 272 (malignant act likely to spread infection of disease dangerous to life) and 296 (obscenity) of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), and further investigation is underway.
Fruit vendor arrested in Ghaziabad
In a similar incident earlier this month, a juice vendor was arrested in Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad for allegedly serving fruit juices mixed with urine to customers, police said. His 15-year-old boy was also detained in the case.

The angry locals beat up the two people over the horrendous incident. Videos which went viral online showed angry locals physically assaulting the two workers. A user who posted the video claimed that about “one litre of urine was recovered from that shop”.
The workers allegedly admitted to the act and even apologised for their actions after getting thrashed by the locals.
Ghaziabad ACP Ankur Vihar Bhaskar Verma had said that the accused, identified as Aamir, was arrested after the police and conducted a search of his juice stall and recovered a plastic cane filled with urine.
Consuming urine can lead to a host of bacterial infections and other health complications. The incident sparked widespread outrage on social media and prompted discussions on food safety standards in roadside shops.
