Hyderabad: The Telangana police will soon be patrolling on fancy bikes like in the US and Europe. For the first time, Fab Regal Raptor bikes have introduced specially designed bikes for the police department in India.

Speaking to CNN News 18, the Managing Director of Fab Motors in Hyderabad, M.G Shahriq, confirmed that the company was in final talks with Telangana government to make these bikes a reality on roads.

He said, "We have introduced these bikes exclusively for police force. After we submitted a proposal, the government showed positive response and decided to take 10 customised bikes for trials.”

“Later, the government plans to approve the budget for nearly 200 such bikes for the entire state,” he stated.

Shahriq added that the company was also in talks with some other states such as Rajasthan, West Bengal, and Maharashtra.

Priced at Rs 3.2 lakh, the high performance 320 cc bike can accelerate 0-60 kmph in 3.5 seconds. Not only this, the bikes are specially modified to suit the requirements of daily and specialised policing.

For a faster communication, the bikes are integrated with wireless Public address system. Red and Blue flashing alarm has been fitted on the front panel for an emergency.

To enable officers to perform multiple functions, electronic thumb control switch has been provided. The bike is equipped with GPS system and facility to view various surveillance cameras online with help of control room to reach crime spot.

Apart from the police department, the specially designed Regal Raptor Police motorcycles can also be used in Bomb Squad or Fire Departments. The bike has enough space to carry wireless transmitters or bomb squad disposable equipment in locked conditions.

Under "Smart and Safe City" initiative, Telangana's chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao is leaving no stone unturned to modernise police department in the state. These high-end bikes could be another step to achieve that.
