COIMBATORE: A group of taxi drivers from here, on Tuesday, alleged that two Ayyappa devotees they were ferrying to Sabarimala, were injured after miscreants threw stones at three of their vehicles in Kerala recently.Upon arriving in the city on Tuesday, the drivers, from the Masakalipalayam taxi stand, petitioned the Police Commissioner and Collector over the incident. They demanded appropriate steps to prevent such attacks on Tamils in Kerala.According to the taxi drivers, the Kerala police refused to register cases even after they lodged complaints with the local police in the State.As taxi driver B Suresh explained: “After visiting the Chottanikkara Bagavathy temple, we were moving towards Sabarimala on Sunday, when a few persons on motorcycles hurled stones at our car around 5.30 pm. The window pane was damaged and two Ayyappa devotees were injured.”In the last couple of days, they alleged, two other vehicles from their taxi stand were attacked in Kerala on way to Sabarimala.
