New Delhi: What does the 2009 US Open Women's Singles champion do when she isn't playing tennis? She changes diapers. That's the astonishing story of Kim Clijsters, who needed a wildcard to enter the grand slam and was only playing her third tournament since returning to the circuit.

"I'm just so glad that I am able to share it with my husband who is here and with my whole group who is here. And with our daughter, of course, the greatest thing ever," says she.

One day, when her daughter is older, Kim Clijsters will tell the story of the night when she won the US Open on a crisp New York evening. It's a story her one-year-old daughter is sure to relish being part of. As for Clijsters herself, the tag of supermom sits really well.

"It's something that I think as a woman who has a family and being an athlete, I think it's possible. I think there are other athletes out there. Obviously in tennis we have Sybille Bammer, and she's doing really good as well. But to win a Grand Slam now is obviously a big deal in women's tennis, and the history of women's tennis. So I'm glad that I'm a part of that history," says Clijsters.

This win is sure to infuse new excitement into the circuit. On her way to the title, Clijsters beat both the Williams sisters - the undisputed queens of grand slam tennis.

"Obviously, you know, beating Serena, I just had a really good feeling after that match, because I was just seeing the ball so well and playing good tennis. I was a little nervous on the day of the final and probably didn't play as well as I did against Serena, but I still won. That's all that counts for me now," says she.

What's your reaction?
