One way or another, we frequently hear stories of snakes making their way to people’s gardens or even homes. Local18, recently, reported exclusively about a snake captured at a farm in Uttara Kannada, Karnataka.
It is being reported that a king cobra was found at the farm of a local named Ramachandra Hegde, a resident of the Murur village, Kumta Taluk, Uttara Kannada. As per the information given, the discovery was shocking to many since the region’s environment is not suitable for snake habitation. The place is not hilly nor it is cool enough for a snake to live.
The snake was caught by a local snake catcher named Snake Pavan, a resident of the Kumta village. The reptile was then released in a suitable area of the forest, nearby. As per more reports, the snake was found to be around 13-foot-long while weighing 6 kilograms.
The locals extended their congratulations to Pawan, who fearless dealt with the situation and saved others from any harm. According to the information given, the range area of a king cobra is up to 10 kilometres. Sometimes out of hunger, they enter villages through the edges of the forest, in search of food.
Naturally, after this little incident, the locals are slightly shaken. According to them, if a king cobra was discovered at such a place, there is a possibility of other snakes appearing in the future. They were assured that the region’s climate was not at all suitable for a snake to reside.
Local18 shared an exclusive video, recording of the snake as well as its capture. The clip shows a long, green snake, slithering on the floor. Snake catcher Pawan uses his capture stick to get a hold of the snake and with his bare hands, he sends it inside a brown cloth bag.
