KOCHI: The most significant feature of Christianity in India is that it was ready to integrate into our culture, Archbishop Mar Joseph Perumthottam of Syro-Malabar Church has said. He was inaugurating the seminar organised by Syro-Malabar Church Commission for Laity, History and Research forum here on Saturday. The Archbishop said the Mar Thoma Christians had always been a role model for others in cultural harmony.“More researches should be made in the field of church history and its contributions should be brought to the public. For, there exists a huge chance of history being misinterpreted by wrong hands,” he said. Union Minister K V Thomas, who was the chief guest at the function, said the history of Syro-Malabar Church denotes the social, cultural, and literary development of the nation. Discussions were held on various topics, including the contributions of Syro-Malabar Church in social, cultural, literary arenas, the role of farming and commerce in Syro-Malabar Church and the practical side of church history. Kuriakose Kumbalakuzhi, George Menacherry, Monamma Kokkat, P A Laser Master, V V Augustine and K V Joseph also spoke.
