Rs 25 lakh semanded for boys release

SIVAKASI: Abductors of a school student in Thiru­thangal in Virudhunagar district have demanded a ransom of Rs 25 lakh from his father to release him.Kodeeswaran (14), is a Class X student at a school in Thiru­thangal. His father, Rameshpandi (42) of Sivaji Nagar at S K N Puram near Thiruthangal, is a real estate dealer.After leaving for school on August 30, Kodeeswaran failed to return home. His school bag and lunch carrier were later found in his classroom. Although a search was made for him in the houses of his relatives and friends, he could not be traced.Soon, Rameshpandi received a call on his cellphone at 7.30 am on Friday. The caller, speaking in Hindi, demanded Rs 25 lakh to release Kodeeswaran. He reportedly gave his bank account number and then cut the call.The police are trying to trace the call.
