New Delhi: A meeting of political parties from Andhra Pradesh with Home Minister P Chidambaram on the Telangana issue is underway.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy, Congress leader Uttam Kumar Reddy, CPI-M state secretary B Raghavalu, PRP leader C Ramachandraiah are among those who are attending the meeting during which Chidambaram will hand over the Justice B N Srikrishna Committee report on the Telangana statehood demand.
The TRS, TDP and BJP kept away from the meeting.
TDP MP Kishtappa earlier met Chidambaram and gave a letter from the party, saying they were not attending the meeting since the decision has to be taken by the Centre and not state political parties.
Reacting to parties boycotting the meet, Chidamabaram said," I note that some political parties have chosen not to attend the meeting. I deeply regret stand taken by them. It does scant justice to the valuable work done by justice Srikrishna Committee. Neverthless, I propose to send a copy to the parties that have stayed away."
