The list of candidates released by BJP on Tuesday for upcoming Rajasthan Assembly elections has left their votebank- the Rajput community infuriated.
No Rajput from Pushkar constituency has been given a ticket by BJP. The news that even BJP leader Bhanwar Singh Palara, the strongest BJP name from Pushkar constituency, has not been given a ticket has come as a setback to the community. Suresh Rawat has been named as the party's candidate representing Pushkar constituency.
Shocked and angry with the party's decision, the Rajput community has decided to meet later on Wednesday in Pushkar to discuss the issue.
The Central Election Committee of the Bharatiya Janata Party had met on Tuesday under the Presidentship of Rajnath Singh to decide on the names of candidates for 200 constituencies in Rajasthan. Meeting was attended by LK Advani, Murali Manohar Joshi, Sushma Swaraj, Arun Jaitley, Narendra Modi and all the members of the Central Election Committee of the BJP.
