BANGALORE: The Cyber Crime Department receives two complaints per day while private detective agencies get over 10 cases daily. In a month, private detective firms solve around five cyber crime complaints filed  by both organisations and individuals. It is said that the time taken by Cyber Crime Department and private agencies vary to a large extent. On an average, the Cyber Crime Department takes about three to seven months to solve one case while a private detective take two weeks to one month for each case. “It all comes down to how many experts you have in your team to crack cases. We usually have one full time investigator on board, an ethical hacker and as and when cases come in, people are hired on a temporary basis. Cases of cyber crime have gone up and we are being approached to solve the cases,” said Director of Spy Minds Investigators Nataraj.People, who hire private detectives to solve cyber crime cases spend over Rs 8,000., They take the case details as investigated by private detectives and submit it to the cyber crime department, which then charges the accused after conducting the investigation.Hacking EthicallyAround 200 ethical hacking courses are conducted in the city. Each year around 10,000 people complete the course. “These ethical hackers usually take up corporate jobs as those pay a lot. Their job is to detect vulnerabilities of company websites and accounts and fix them,” said ethical hacking trainer Abdul Jabbar from Sadashivnagar.A white hat hacker at the beginning of his career start with a minimum of Rs 30,000. “Some of these people have also approached government agencies like Cyber Crime department but have seldom got assignments or responses,” he added.Meanwhile, although the number of pending cases lying at the cyber crime department continues to increase, the department has  not been able to hire the required personnel. The Bangalore Cyber Crime Police station has  eight Deputy Superintendents of police (DSPs), six inspectors and 12 other staff members. However, the department needs two to three experts to solve various kinds of cases.
