Power fluctuation causes loss of Rs 2 lakh

TRIPUNITHURA: A high-voltage inflow had left hundreds of electric meters and gadgets damaged in and around Udayamperoor on Sunday.The power overflow from the Nadakkavu feeder station is learnt to have caused a loss of `2 lakh.  Home appliances, including fridges, televisions and washing machines were damaged.The residents alleged that no maintenance work has been carried out on the Nadakkavu electricity feeder station for the past several years. “The KSEB officials had not undertaken pre-monsoon maintenance work in the area, which is the main reason behind the voltage fluctuation”, said Chacko Francis, a resident of Udayamperror.The KSEB officials said that they could not find the actual reason behind the power fluctuations.
