THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A photo exhibition began on Wednesday at the Russian Cultural Centre here to mark the 229th anniversary of the founding of Russia’s Black Sea Fleet. The fleet was founded by imperial Russia on May 13, 1783. The exhibition will end on Thursday. Battleship Potemkin, made famous by Sergei Eisenstein’s film of the same name, was part of this dreaded fleet. In 2010, ‘Moskva’, a battleship of the fleet, visited Kochi for joint exercises with the Indian Navy. The exhibition is on from 10 am to 5 pm.
