Panel to inquire with cops on Paramakudi firing

RAMANATHAPURAM: The one-man commission headed by retired judge Sampath visited Ramanathapuram to conduct inquiry into the police firing incident at Paramakudi, on Wednesday. On September 11, following unrest during an annual day celebration at Paramakudi, police personnel opened fire to bring the situation under control. Six persons were killed in the firing. The one-man commission, constituted by the State government to probe the incident, has till now completed inquiry with mediapersons and a few members of the public.The commission will hold inquiries with 18 people, including police officials.
