Out To ‘Clean Barmer’, IAS Tina Dabi Raids Spa Centre On Sex Racket Suspicion
According to the police, after receiving no response to their calls, some officers entered the spa through the roof while others forced the door open

IAS officer Tina Dabi on Wednesday conducted a raid on a spa centre in Rajasthan’s Barmer city, suspecting it was a front for an alleged sex racket. The operation led to the arrest of seven individuals, including five women.

While inspecting the Chamunda Circle area, Dabi, who was appointed as Barmer district collector last month, spotted the spa centre and instructed officials to investigate the premises.

The raid was filmed, with videos showing several women attempting to cover their faces, along with men inside the alleged spa facility.

During the inspection, Dabi found that the spa’s doors were locked from the inside. She directed the officials to open the doors, but even after knocking several times, no one responded, as per NDTV report.

According to the police, after receiving no response to their calls, some officers entered the spa through the roof while others forced the door open. Upon entering, they found several rooms where five women and two men were in compromising situations.

The Sadar police station took all seven individuals into custody on suspicion of prostitution, and they are currently being questioned.

Navo Barmer campaign in Barmer

Last month, in a new initiative to keep Barmer city clean, Dabi launched the Navo Barmer campaign. Several videos showed the IAS officer inspecting the area and instructing shopkeepers to maintain cleanliness.

During the inspection, the District Collector had became upset upon seeing litter outside the shops at Kisan Market. She questioned the shopkeepers about the lack of dustbins. A video of the incident has also gone viral on social media.

“You all are throwing things in the drain and here and there. I will get this shop closed…This is not a place to throw garbage. Right now, I am getting the garbage removed. I will come again after two days to see. I should see big dustbins in front of every shop here. All of you can buy one dustbin each. It is not a matter of shame to clean the area in front of your shop,” the IAS officer was heard telling a shopkeeper in one of the videos.
