On April 6 this year Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi ex-post facto approved implementation of One Rank One Pension. The protesting veterans welcomed just one of the seven provisions announced by the government i.e. the implementation of OROP from July 1, 2014, with 2013 as the base year for calculation of pension.
