London: Nicole Kidman says she fell into depression after her 11-year-old marriage to Tom Cruise broke down. The 45-year-old actress says she was not ready for marriage when she tied the knot with Cruise at the age of 23 in 1990, the Daily Mail reported.
"I got married really fast and really young. But I don't regret that because it got me Bella and Connor and I did have a fantastic marriage for a long period."
"Then when it didn't work out I had to really dig deep and find my way through depression. I have no regrets about all of it. It was all part of growing up," she said.
The actress, who is now happily married to Australian singer Keith Urban and has daughters Sunday Rose, four, and 22-month-old Faith, born to a surrogate mother, told Australia's Who magazine that her inability to conceive during her first marriage also led to depression.
"I had so much time thinking that wasn't going to happen in my life and trying to understand that. When it did happen that was great. I had tried and failed and failed and failed. Not to be too detailed, but I've had an ectopic pregnancy, miscarriages and I've had fertility treatments. I've done all the stuff you can possibly do to try get pregnant," Kidman said.
The flame-haired beauty also denied rumours that she adviced Katie Holmes during her divorce with Cruise recently. "I never spoke to her. I wish all of them well, but I was not involved in any of that."
