New Delhi: Singing sensation Shaan has lent his voice to the soundtrack of the much-awaited Hollywood epic The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe.
The song aptly titled Shuruaat from the album Tishnagi is being made into a music video to promote the film.
The promotional number has an international appeal and is a good publicity mechanism for both the album as well as the movie.
Shaan's attempt would have been very commendable but sadly the rest of the album sounds no different, its melodic rock and roll all the way.
So when Grammy-winning artist Steven Curtis Chapman follows with Rembering You apart from being a bit pacier, the only difference seems to be the angrezi lyrics.
But then the song Hero by song writer Bethany Dillon balances out the album with some good soulful spirit.
Stronger by Delirous and Lion by Rebecca St James follow in the same spirit and are quite inspiring.
This album has its ups and downs but, isn't the film about ups and downs as well?
With an estimated production and marketing budget of $250 million, the first Narnia film is a must-win movie for the loss-making Disney Studios, and paves the way for up to six more films based on C S Lewis' seven-book series.
In the battle of the fantasy film franchise, Disney's first Narnia installment aims to match the huge success of the four Harry Potter movies and the Lord of the Rings trilogy.
