Kolkata: A delegation from Mauritius led by Irfan Abdul Rahman, the president of that country's Electoral Commission, will make a four-day visit to the city from Monday for an experience about the Indian electoral system, specially the technology used in counting of votes.

Stating this, Assistant CEO Amitjyoti Bhattacharya said on Sunday the delegation would arrive on Monday and stay till May 15 for a first hand experience about the electoral system.

"During this visit, the Mauritius poll panel delegation will experience election management, counting process and technology used in it," Bhattacharya said. Earlier on April 29, a 14-member Nepalese electoral delegation arrived here on a two-day visit to the state for a first hand experience of the Indian electoral system ahead of the state's third phase Lok Sabha elections.

Led by the Election Commissioner of Nepal Ila Sharma, the Nepalese delegation was accompanied by a four-member team from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Bhattacharya added.
