THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Jet Airways has added daily flights from here to Sharjah, with a state-of-the-art Boeing 737-800 aircraft. The airline currently operates a daily flight from Kochi to Sharjah. This is the airline’s tenth daily service from India to the United Arab Emirates and the 22nd to the Gulf region. Jet Airways currently operates schedules to 24 international destinations.
The 9W 570 flight departs from Thiruvananthapuram at 1015 hours local time (LT) and arrives at Sharjah at 1240 hours (LT). The return flight 9W 569 leaves Sharjah at 1340 hours (LT) and lands here at 1900 hours (LT). The additional services from Thiruvananthapuram will now complement the airline’s existing daily Gulf operations to Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, Dubai, Doha, Kuwait, Muscat and Sharjah, as well as Jeddah, Riyadh and Dammam from Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai and Hyderabad.
Jet Airways currently operates a fleet of 99 aircraft, including 10 Boeing 777-300 ER aircraft, 12 Airbus A330-200 aircraft, 57 next-generation Boeing 737-700/800/900 aircraft and 20 modern ATR 72-500 turboprop aircraft. With an average fleet age of 5.61 years, the airline claims to hold the youngest aircraft fleet in the world.
