New office bearers of the Youth Congress wing of Puducherry were elected on Friday furthering the party’s policy of strengthening the unit.
Ilayaraja, who hailed from the scheduled caste community, secured 546 votes and was elected the President while Saravanan with 370 votes was elected the Vice President.
Besides, five general secretaries were elected, including Muthukumarasamy, who contested the Assembly elections unsuccessfully from Nettapakkam. The other general secretaries are Rajaram, Satyavendan, Senthil Kumaran, Gopi and Kader Moinuddin from Karaikal.
