New Delhi: The Delhi High Court (HC) on Tuesday issued notice to the Delhi Police on a petition filed by Sudhanshu Mittal, who allegedly tampered with the evidence in the Rahul Mahajan drug abuse case, for quashing the FIR against him.
Justice Reva Khetrapal issued notice to the police and posted the matter to February 5 as a connected petition filed by six Apollo hospital doctors will come up for hearing.
Mittal, a close aide of late BJP leader Pramod Mahajan, along with 11 Apollo staffers, including six doctors, were charged with misleading the investigation and tampering with the evidence in the drug abuse case.
All of them sought quashing of the FIR which was registered by the police at Sarita Vihar police station following Additional Chief Metroplitan Magistrate's orders last year.
Son of Pramod Mahajan, Rahul Mahajan, was admitted to Apollo Hospital on June 1 last year following alleged drug consumption.
A local court hearing the drugs case against Rahul, had cleared him of the charges of drug trafficking. He now faces charges of possessing contraband substance for consumption.
