Elephant electrocuted

MYSORE: A twenty-year-old male elephant  died of electrocution at Badagalapura village in Saragur range of H D Kote taluk, whose body was found on Monday. The wild elephant that had entered the fields of one Shivegowda had come in contact with a live 11 kv wire, while passing through the farm three days ago.  The villagers who were grazing cattle sensed foul smell and informed the Forest Department officials. Deputy Conservator of Forests Devaraj, Dr Nagaraj, RFO Mahadevan and Saragur police visited the spot and conducted the postmortem.
