Former Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yedyyurappa has appealed to the people of Tamil Nadu to cooperate with Karnataka which he claimed was hit by drought and facing water shortage at present.

Yeddyurappa, who was on a visit to the solid waste processing plant at Chettichavadi village along with a team, told reporters that Karnataka was facing drought since 1971 and was listed as one of the worst-affected state. “Despite these circumstances Karnataka agreed to release 10,000 cusecs with a view to maintain friendly ties with Tamil Nadu. We want the people of Tamil Nadu to understand the situation and cooperate with Karnataka,” he said.
