KOZHIKODE: The Judicial First Class Magistrate Court (four), on Wednesday, directed the Nadakkavu Police to submit a fresh report before September 1 on the suicide of two teenaged girls in 1996. Magistrate G Mahesh has given the direction on the petition moved by National Secular Conference state secretary N K Abdul Aziz seeking police investigation into the death of two girls. The case was linked to the ice-cream parlour sex scandal naming Kunhalikutty as the second respondent. Aziz alleged that 17-year-old girls - Sunaina and Sibana, pre-degree students at a parallel college, were forced to commit suicide by jumping in front of the Parasuram Express near the sixth railway cross here on October 29, 1996, after getting trapped in the scandal. Aziz alleged that though a case was registered at the Nadakkavu police station, the investigation reached nowhere. The Court had earlier asked the Nadakkavu police to furnish the report of the case. However, Nadakkavu SI P Shyam filed a report before the court stating that the case has been closed in 1997.
