New Delhi: Actor Gaurav Chopra may have watched Bollywood blockbuster 'Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayengey' ('DDLJ') just once, but the experience - peppered with action and a bit of drama - is still etched in his mind, and might even remain forever. We aren't talking about his cinematic experience, but focusing on the incident that happened minutes before he entered the hall to watch Kajol-Shah Rukh Khan starrer in 1995. And as Gaurav tells us, the incident was very filmi.

"Yes, it is one of the most unforgettable experiences that happened when I was studying at NIFT. Since the film had just released, I along with my friends planned to watch it," he said.

"I remember we had gone to the Uphaar cinema hall as it wasn't too far. While we were still in the queue waiting for our turn, someone approached us and offered us movie tickets at a premium rate. Shocked by what he said, we told him there was no need for us to purchase them. And just when we bought our tickets and moved towards the hall, the same person, who must have been watching us all this while, misbehaved with one of our female friends."

As Gaurav recalled, the man passed a nasty comment, which his friends chose to ignore. But the matter escalated, when he touched her. "I just couldn't take it, and soon broke into a fight with the guy. Within minutes, two of his acquaintances joined in and I had to combat them alone," he said.

But had people around helped him as he dealt with the eve-teasers, the matter could have been solved without spending too much time. "Yes, I did get a punch or two. But had people around taken a stand against the incident and helped me instead of being a bystander, it would have helped us," he rued.

Gaurav, with whom nobody messed at NIFT, all thanks to his athletic built, says the incident remains unforgettable for several reasons, one being having his friend fall for him. "In college, the mention of 'DDLJ' would be followed with a joke because everybody knew what had happened. And the friend I helped, eventually fell for me. We dated for almost 7 years. So yes, the film help me win my first love."

So while 'DDLJ' justified the thought of waiting for that special someone and not compromising on love and left many overwhelmed, it elevated the experience to a completely new level for Gaurav.
