Peshawar: A policeman was killed and seven others injured when unidentified assailants targeted a police vehicle with a bomb in this northwestern Pakistani city on Thursday, hours after a suicide attack on a court complex killed 19 people.
Police officials said a police van on routine patrol in the area under the jurisdiction of Yaqatoot police station was attacked with a remote controlled bomb shortly after midnight.
A policeman died while seven others who were injured were rushed to Lady Reading Hospital. The condition of three of the injured was described by officials as critical.
A station house officer was among the injured, they said. Hours earlier, 19 people, including three policemen, were killed and 50 more injured when a suicide bomber struck a crowded court complex within the Peshawar cantonment.
