New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has objected to the Delhi High Court decision to stop e-rickshaws till August 14. The court has asked the Centre to form policy guidelines for the smooth functioning of e-rickshaws.
A day after court decision, Delhi BJP Chief Satish Upadhyay said that e-rickshaws would not stop plying in Delhi and that the Lieutenant Governor would put forth his best defence. He went on to say that they would even approach the court if the need arose.
The decision was taken keeping in mind the death of a child on Wednesday who was hit by a speeding e-rickshaw driven by a minor.
