Bigyan Rath flagged off

BHUBANESWAR: Governor MC Bhandare on Monday flagged off Bigyan Rath from Ramachandra High School, Khandapara, the birthplace of eminent scientist Pathani Samanta. The rath is an initiative to popularise science among the youths in particular and people in general as a prelude to the 99th Indian Science Congress, to be hosted by KIIT University in association with NISER  in January. The chariot will travel 3,500 km covering all the 30 districts of the State. Bhandare said, the rath will carry the message of science to the villages.  From Khandapara, the Bigyan Rath will go to Cuttack, the birthplace of PK Parija, another renowned scientist, during its 20-day journey which culminates on December 3.
