A block development officer (BDO) in Palamu district was on Wednesday sent in 14 days judicial custody by a local court in connection with alleged irregularities in Indira Awas schemes, a senior police officer said in Medininagar.

A block development officer (BDO) in Palamu district was on Wednesday sent in 14 days judicial custody by a local court in connection with alleged irregularities in Indira Awas schemes, a senior police officer said in Medininagar.

"Panki BDO Mohan Lal Marandi was arrested from Sudna locality in Medininagar on Tuesday night by a Giridih Police team following a warrant issued by a Giridih court," Superintendent of Police YS Ramesh said.

He was produced before the Chief Judicial Magistrate Suresh Kumar, who sent him in fourteen days judicial remand.

The BDO was facing charges in the Indira Awas scheme when he was posted in Giridih, the SP added.

Palamu district Deputy Commissioner Manoj Kumar said he would send a report to the government in this regard.
