Assault: Amarnath Patil granted bail

GULBARGA: The district and sessions on Tuesday court granted bail to Hyderabad-Karnataka Area Development Board (HKADB) chairman Amarnath Patil.   He was remanded in judicial custody till July 7.Patil had been arrested on June 23 for allegedly assaulting a dalit employee of HKADB, Srimant Pattedar.It may be recalled that Pattedar had filed a complaint against Patil on June 9, accusing the latter and his 15 supporters of  manhandling and abusing him. Police could not arrest Patil till June 22 and an anticipatory bail application was rejected by the court.Following this, the HKADB chairman surrendered before the investigating officer on June 23. Patil moved his bail application on June 23 and the arguments  were heard for a week.
