Mumbai: Director Anurag Basu is likely to act in his assistant Abhijeet Das's debut Bengali film.
Basu, who has directed films like 'Murder', Gangster', 'Kites', 'Life In A Metro' and 'Barfi', played the role of a doctor in filmmaker Onir's movie 'I Am'.
If all goes well, he might be in front of the camera once again.
"I am working on a full length Bengali feature film. I am keen to have Anurag Basu. He is a brilliant actor. He knows that I want him to act. But nothing is finalised... We are yet to discuss things in detail," Das told PTI.
Das has worked with Basu on films like 'Life In A Metro', 'Barfi', and ad and tele films.
"He is my mentor. He is like my elder brother. I learnt the art of story telling and narration from him. He is always there to help me," Das said.
The Bengali film, titled 'Golkata', is about Karma and its shooting will begin from August.
Presently, Das is quite excited about his short film 'Khamoshiyan' featuring actress Raima Sen. It is about the affection between a dog and Raima.
