Mumbai: Bollywood playback singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya and a group of goons allegedly assaulted his tenant Arvind Sarvadekar in Andheri on Monday night.

Abhijeet, who owns the Royal Classic building next to Fame Adlabs in Oshiwara, Andheri had leased the property to Sarvadekar under the name of Newtron Services for the past three years.

Sarvadekar opened a franchise of Hyundai Electronics, but did not pay his rent regularly.

In the past three months, three of Sarvadekar's cheques have bounced and the amount is to the tune of Rs 2.91 lakh.

The singer and his companions had allegedly ordered Sarvadekar to vacate the shop on Monday.

Sarvadekar has been admitted to Cooper Hospital. Abhijeet, however, said Savadekar and his friends were drunk and threw him out of the shop.

Meanwhile, both the parties have registered a complaint against each other at the Oshiwara Police Station in Mumbai.
