CHENNAI: Chief Minister and AIADMK general secretary J Jayalalithaa on Thursday welcomed the Supreme Court order cancelling 122 2G licences granted during the tenure of former Telecom Minister A Raja.Answering queries of mediapersons in this regard, the CM said, “It is a welcome step. I prefer to see what happens in the special court.”Asked her opinion of the Union Government’s strong defence of Union Home Minister P Chidambaram, blaming Raja entirely on the issue, the AIADMK leader said, “Irrespective of what the Central Government may say, it is for the court to announce the final verdict.”When questioned whether she would demand Chidambaram’s resignation, following the SC verdict, Jayalalithaa said: “ I would not like to say anything more at this stage.”
