Around 200 sovereigns of gold jewels were looted from a businessman’s house at Tindivanam, in Villupuram district, on Monday. Sivakumar, a resident of Rajaji Street, was away in Kerala when the burglary took place. When he returned on Monday, he found the doors of the house broken. Burglars had looted gold and silver jewels worth several lakhs from an almirah. Sivakumar filed a complaint with Tindivanam police. A team led by DSP Kuppusamy inspected the spot and conducted an inquiry.
