Kompany is set to return after two months out with a thigh injury in the English Premier League match at West Bromwich Albion on Wednesday.
England: Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany is set to return from two months out with a thigh injury in the English Premier League match at West Bromwich Albion on Wednesday.
The Belgium center back, who has been in full training for a week, has been badly missed by City since he was injured in the 3-1 home win over Everton on Oct. 5.
City manager Manuel Pellegrini says on Tuesday "Vincent is a very important player. He is a very good defender and of course we need him."
During the 10 games that Kompany has missed, City's defense has looked vulnerable, especially away from home where the team has picked up four points from a possible 18 in the league.
City's brilliant home form has helped Pellegrini's side climb to third place.
