Manchester: Franz Beckenbauer has urged Bayern Munich to keep their feet on the ground following the club's superb start to the season.
The Bavarians sit top of the Bundesliga table at the moment with 18 points from seven games and top Group A of the Champions League as well, after victories over Villarreal and Manchester City.
However, Beckenbauer has stressed that Bayern should not get carried away after their 2-0 win over Manchester City on Tuesday, as the Premier League representatives are not a great team like Barcelona, Real Madrid or Manchester United just yet.
"We should not forget that although Manchester City are a good club and are stronger than many Bundesliga sides, they're not a great team like Real Madrid or Manchester United," Beckenbauer wrote in his column in Bild.
"Bayern are definitely not of the same level as Barcelona just yet. Claiming that would be a big exaggeration. Barcelona have won so many titles in the past few years, while we were relatively anonymous during those years."
Bayern are currently preparing for the Bundesliga match away against Hoffenheim on Saturday.
