Rajinikanth will play the role of a Muslim police officer, who seeks justice by reopening a case, in this movie. Filming for Thalaivar 171 has spanned locations like Thiruvananthapuram, Tirunelveli, and Mumbai. This film will mark the reunion of Amitabh Bachchan and Rajinikanth after 33 years.
