WWE Superstar Brock Lesnar could make a blockbuster return to the company at the 2024 Royal Rumble pay-per-view. As per the Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer said, “If he’s going to return for the Rumble next week would be the week. If he going to return after, it could be a couple of weeks later”. Meltzer then added that he would ‘presume’ that the former UFC star would be in one of the company’s biggest pay-per-views. “I would presume he’s in the Rumble and I presume any angle he’s going to do would be shot in The Rumble itself,” Meltzer said.
According to Dave Meltzer, it would not be ideal for Brock Lesnar to make a return this week. He feels that it wouldn’t be a good thing for the WWE as they would be facing a serious competition from football games and the Emmy Awards. A return during these major events could potentially tarnish their TV ratings. “I would think this would not be the week to have Brock Lesnar return, given this might be one of the lower-rated shows considering they went against the football games and the Emmy awards,” he said.
Brock Lesnar has worked hard in the pro wrestling scene to earn the position of picking his schedule in the WWE. He played all his matches out of the way before competing in SummerSlam last year. In that premium live event, Lesnar competed against Cody Rhodes. He lost that match to the American Nightmare and has been missing from the company since. Having enjoyed a nice little break at home, the Beast Incarnate will likely make a return at the massive WWE event set to be later this month.
It was previously reported that Brock Lesnar was already in line for a return this year after a promotion for Brock Lesnar’s Wrestlemania 40 appearance was spotted. It suggests that the Beast will be present at the company’s biggest event of the year. This only increases his chances of making a return at the Royal Rumble.
The Royal Rumble is set to air live on January 27 at the Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida. It’s going to be the second time in history that the Royal Rumble will feature at this venue. The last time this happened was back in 2021. This is also going to be the first Royal Rumble that will have live fans in attendance since the COVID-19 Pandemic.
